BS1 startup sends me to blue screen of death

Can't get this game to start; it just sends me to the Blue Screen of Death every time I try to launch it.

I've tried: running as administrator, running in compatibility mode, verifying integrity of game cache, and downloading those cutscene files. Not sure what else to try as no one else seems to have mentioned a blue screen in these forums.

Any ideas?

(It's very frustrating as I bought a bunch of games during that big Steam sale at the New Year and only half of them work so far. Why sell games that don't run?)

What are your computer specifications? I think this is a Steamplay title so, either specs will be good

Windows 7, Pentium D 3.00 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT.

I tried playing the game through ScummVM but I couldn't get Scumm to recognize it as a game.

Grr!

Same problem. Vista 32-bit, ASUS Striker Extreme, Core 2 duo 3.0GHz, 4GB RAM, 8800GTX x2 SLI, Sound Blaster Audigy

Deleted local content and reinstalled. Seems to be ok now.
