removed from steam?

Yep, looks like it has been. But face it, no one was buying it, not for $20, and everyone complaining about the price. Why keep it on the virtual shelf? They weren't gonna drop the price, Activision is too greedy.

I expect the actual circumstances were a little more complex than that. For example, the license may have expired or the IP was sold to another company. Both of which tend to happen with old titles. Considering that Bethesda/Zenimax now publish most iD titles, including Quake 4, which was also originally published by Activision, it wouldn't surprise me if they have something to do with this.

Bear in mind that is currently only speculation based on Quake 4. So please don't get your hopes up too much!

I paid £20 retail, I was not going to pay almost the same for Steam copy. I put in my wishlist to see if it would go on sale. It never did. Worth £9.99 max

I would have bought it agine just have on steam if it had drop to $5 maybe even $10 but it never did get below $40 on the last Christmas Sale (2010) I know it drop down to $20 not long ago but why Activision jack a round so long is beyond me.
I bought brand new copy for $5 a long time ago at MicroCenter about 3 years ago when it was still at $50/40 on Steam at the time.
Even Rage drop in price and I'm sure it be on sale agine this Christmas.

Yeah had it on my wishlist as well was hoping for a price drop but it never went on sale and i had it there for a year and now the game is not even on Steam dam.

When it did go on sale - still over £10 - too much for me, and not even maintained either.

$10USD would have been a good price, but I see the retail copy on bargain tables locally for $5USD.

And, yes, Activision has crapped on us again. As well as Punk Buster. Game Servers, too. My clan had to go with a Branzone server to get a ranked server. (actually a lot cheaper and better support)

I played this game for 4 years but i am tired of the maps and i can only play off line with bots and costom maps dont suport bots

still got that too so i say push for a qwet 2
but skyrim is the one now for me but as i said qwet is still installed on my pc and it runs on windows 7 it is a well built program and with the patch the bots are great
