Crashes during first time setup

I just bought the game, installed it, and all went well. Unfortunately, when I try to start it up, it gives the standard warning asking e if I want to let it make changes, all that. I click yes, the "Performing first time setup: step 1 of 1" steam popup appears, then it goes away for no reason. I'm not sure why it is doing this, and I sure don't know how to fix it. Can anyone help me out?

Are you running under Windows 7 64?

A Steam patch is comming, but if you can't wait you can try to manually patch, instructions here:

I've already done this to fix Blocks That Matter, and it still gives me the error. I'll just wait. Any idea when the patch will be?
