First time it was OK... second time, I get no sound
The thread title is almost entirely self explanatory.
I've bought Humble Indie Bundle #4 and ran SMB. First time, the sound is there and things are fine. But when I started it up again, I can hear the the sounds during the intro and the title screen, but as soon as I press Space to actually get to the title menu, everything is silent. I've checked in Sound settings in Windows 7 to see if, perhaps, sound is coming out of a different device rather than the default... no devices showed the little green "bar" moving to indicate they're getting any output. EDIT: I've reinstalled the game, and that seemed to have done it. Weird. O.o Please help! Last edited by Shaamaan: 12-14-2011 at 09:42 AM. |

Sounds to me you had the volume in the options set to 0, as it loads your preferences once you activate the main menu.

I think Rickenlotus is probably right on this. I had the exact same problem you described when I booted up my game today and the fix was simply going into settings and cranking to sound back up to normal. I have no idea why it set itself down to 0.

Same issue - replicated it on another system and discovered the latest Steam Update is at fault. It resets in game volume to 0 for some reason.
