Level 6

Stuck at mission 6; Into the Wild. Just attacked one of the defense tree-ridden planets with 170 seedlings and it wasn't even a fight, just got obliterated. Is there some core gameplay mechanic I'm missing or is this game really that tedious that I'll need to go make a sandwich, check facebook, etc. while waiting for an army of 300 or so to spawn so I can have half a chance (then 300 more for the next asteroid, and again, and again...)

Edit: can't even leave it as the spawn limit seems to be set to 40 per planet for some reason, so I need to keep coming back and moving everything to the one planet so the seedlings can keep spawning.
