Game boots, but screen is black.

I bought this earlier today on sale, but I cannot get any image on screen when the game boots. My junky monitor just shows "Input Not Support", and I can hear the audio and can skip the cinematics too. I can even hear the main menu music, but it won't let me *see* anything until I ctrl+alt+del the task manager to close the game. I've tried booting in windowed mode [-win in set launch options?], I've tried booting in every resolution type this monitor supports, and yet, nothing.

Am I stuck here? Thanks for any advice you may have-- and this is the only game I'm having a problem with, so it's specific to this title.

[I've also verified game cache, in some blind hope that would fix it. It didn't.]
