I won't buy The Chronicles of Riddick™ Assault on Dark Athena.

Reason?

Tages.

And I bet you are losing many sales today.

A lot of people wanted to get this game, but we don't want to worry about messing up our PC's with that horrible Tages DRM.

Remove it and I'll gladly buy the game.

i would have to agree this is by far one of the least restrictive forms of DRM out there. With that being said I personally don't see why its needed when steam has its own layer of DRM protection.

Steam is NOT a real DRM. It is just a store and game manangement service.

Actually, that's incorrect. Steam IS DRM, just quite lenient. You need Steam installed to install the games you've bought. That's DRM right there.

That said, I'm not buying this either due to TAGES. I mean... Come on.

Every sale I am disappointed that TAGES was not removed - skipped on this game every time.

Price is not a factor here, I wouldn't install it in its current form, even if they handed it out for free.

Excuses? It'd be easier to simply visit a torrent site and acquire a copy. Pirates never have to worry about any form of DRM - even steam. I hope the publisher patches out the unwanted tages tacked onto the game.

the 3 times a month limit is not the only issue, read around some more.

even then, why defend that? why should we, the paying customers have a limit? i believe that gabe newel said, 'the best way to fight piracy is to create a better service than what pirates use'. this obviously isnt better.

plus along with the server issues everyones been having, the bugs, and the list of other issues, its pretty obvious that tages is ♥♥♥♥ty DRM.

It's not the activation limit that bothers me, it's the TAGES software itself, which still lives in an age where physical discs have to be read by a shady ring-0 driver.

Some non-savvy people offered unrelated advice, but I gave up on this game and regretted purchasing it.

2 years have passed, multiple formats, no support, no solution... problem still exists.
