Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 1 not working on German

Why i can't start this game in German language?
My Desktop turns black and then just closes my game with the Error that it doesnt work anymore.
I reinstalled the game in English, then it worked perfect.
It's pretty useless for me to play a text-based game on any other language then my native one.

please help me, thank you.

hm, just tried it and it works (didn't even know it has german speech, thought it would only be german text).

so.. wenn du es auf deutsch umstellst, ladet es ja ein wenig. danach starte steam/pc neu und wähle (keine ahnung wie das auf deutsch heisst, ich rate mal) "eigenschaften", dann "lokale dateien verifizieren" (oder so ähnlich - rechet maustaste auf game in library). geht's dann?

The games crashes in German and French.
This bug is 6 month old and no fix has been provided
