Lightbulb TF2 Backpack Organizer

Wouldn't it be great if we could have an organized backpack?
Everybody wants it. Everybody needs it.

Now with all those new items from the Christmas Holidays, new Hats, ... it would be great if we could organize our TF2 Backpack.

I was thinking about an option to set parameters for our backpack.

Par Example :

Page 1 - 3 : Hats
Page 4 : Christmas
Page 5 - 7 : Weapons
Page 8 - ? : Metal

This way, the backpack is organized and if we want metal, we go to page 8. If we need to trade a hat, we choose "Hat" and it only shows the hats form page 1 to 3.

Currently, if we receive new items, it always goes to the first empty space in our backpack, messing the entire backpack up somehow.

Tell me your thoughts about this and maybe if we receive lots of ideas, positive and negative comments, Steam / Valve might add the feature in a later update.

3-4: metal and keys
5: useless hats, miscs etc
6: useful hats, miscs etc
7-8: useful weapons
ENJOY

Logic has no place in SPUF just as facts have no place in a church.

Away with you!

Blasphemy!

Couldn't you do that by hand anyway, even if it takes longer?

I just use the auto sort by class.

Am I like the only one who does?

I used it too, yet I want my hats combined with each other so I have a clear view which hats I have and which hats I haven't.

Basically i agree. But if you take yourself an hour or two, you should be able to organize your backpack manually in a personal way that fits your needs perfectly and to be honest, i oftenly like viewing other backpacks, if they are individually arranged, since it shows a little bit of the character of the backpack-owner, if you ask me :-)

Yeah I agree.
My backpack is somehow organized.
Last page, metal
First page, unusuals, genuine
than second page are stranges and hats
and so on.
Yet everytime I trade something, the thing I get in return is in place of the thing I traded away. So everytime I have to see, check and move things around in order to get it back organized.
With parameters, it will be automatically organized, no matter what I trade or get.

This is certainly not a backpack rating thread. Go to the other thread and do it there. This thread is totally different!

I still like the idea of setting parameters to make the job easier, instead of moving around 20+ items every week!

An option to mark items that shouldn't be crafted by accident is also something good, especially if you have strange weapons and weapons, lol.

What's the best option to choose?

Sort By Quality
Sort By Type
Sort By Class
Sort By LoadOut Slot

I have Genuine, Unusuals, Strange items, normal items, hats, metal, misc,... Any an idea?

Sort by loadout slot is good enough. Now if only you could exclude certain pages from sorting (to keep junk in there), it would be perfect.

Sorting them all by yourself.

this will be good, allowing to block items ingame so you cant craft them for accident
