You must've played Portal 1 with the sound off and rushed through the areas without looking at anything. Portal 1 had tons of character, story and context, it's the reason it is so acclaimed - definitely not for the easy puzzles.

Also to those people saying 'play the demo' - the demo is really short and gives you nothing more than the tutorial at the start of the game so doesn't give you any experience of what it is actually like.

Quoted for the Truth, because people have to make up their own mind, don't be one of those people who only tries games because (A) it had the most epic reviews or (B) because everyone has it.
