Cossacks 2 Battle for Europe Windows 7 64bit Runtime error

Hey, I recently bought Cossacks 2 Battle for Europe in Steam and everytime I start I get a runtime error for engine.exe
My mate also bought It so we can play it together but for him it's running, although our system speccs are 80% the same.

I have
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
AMD phenom II x6 1055T
ATI HD Readon 5850
8GB RAM

Pentium Dual Core @ 2.10ghz
ATI HD Radeon 4500 series
3GB RAM

I note that I have the same video card manufacturer as naechstenliebe - is there a known problem with these cards?

Would be very grateful for any help that anyone may be able to provide!

My mate got a HD6970 so I am not sure about the Graphic card thing. We both got the newest driver.

Yes he got the same PC like me except for the Graphic cards.

It's not that it was expensive, 4,99€ ,but the game was always great and I'd really like to play it.

I got the complete pack Recently and Absolutely none of the games work not american conquest or any Cossacks games

Intel Hd Graphics(I hate my card but its a laptop cant change it)
4 Gigs o RAM

All of you have more RAM than me 2GB maybe that's the problem, but somehow it can be limited.
I've heard from somewhere that the game is not working with CPUs which have more than 2 cores

Although the gameplay has a lot of bugs, too.
