Crash in SADX when Xbox 360 controller in use

whenever i hit an enemy, the game crashes.

Only happens when I try to use my Xbox controller.

This also happens in Sonic Generations

Any help would be appreciated.

Does this happen when the controller rumbles?

From my experience most 360 controller issues are solved when you plug it directly into the computer and not a USB hub.
