Starforce or any DRM on this?

I have the boxed version of Dreamfall but installing it is impossible (or at least difficult) due to the Starforce protection that won't function on Windows 7. I've seen that this is on sale and was wondering if anyone can give me a quick answer as to whether the Steam version has any similar DRM?

Thanks.

If i remember correctly, you can play the boxed version on windows 7. You have to cancel the installation of direct x when the game is installing. Then download the DRM revoke tool from the Starfore website which will remove the crappy DRM. Then it should run

That's not 100% accurate, since there are games on Steam with DRM that don't mention anything on their store pages (spectromancer, two worlds 2, dead space 2, etc.)

I've got both games installed, give me a moment and I'll scan them with protectID and post the results.

Edit: Just a compression engine. No DRM on either game.

I've played, uninstalled, and reinstalled the Steam version of this game many times over the years. I played it on XP, Vista, and Windows 7, 32 and 64 bit. It's always worked perfectly and I never encountered any issues with DRM or activations.

The latest US Patch (1.64) does indeed remove DRM from the game. No problems with playing it on Win 7 64-bit now.
