2nd snout only one set of dominoes :(

I peppered the first snout and went through the key hole. I got the 2nd when I got through to the other side. only one set of dominoes spawned and I cant get any further... has this happened to anyone else and am I missing something? Love this game so far but getting frustrated because what seems to need to happen isn't happening

This is normal. By using jump/twirl, these new dominoes will allow you to reach the ledge on your right.

Yeah, those wooden tip boxes that pop up are important. As Jack said you need to jump/twirl. You can string jumps to gain more air time, as well as holding the jump button to glide.
