hello all i wanted to play as the monsters on quake 1- cuz its cool- and i found a mod called monstermatch (google quake1 monstermatch and download it...) and it had pak0 and progs.dat in it and i popped those into the...the...the id1 folder ye ye...lol...! and when i launch the game to do it err...it says
"W_LoadWadFile: couldn't load gfx.wad" the funny thing is the readme has no install instructions, but i read through copyright, i was suprised to find THIS: "COPYRIGHT & DISTRIBUTION: The QuakeC source code (from Quake version 1.06)" could using quake 1.06 work? and how would i do it?? |

Quake 1.06 is the last update that patched the pak file. Later versions are engine changes only.

ok...
if this mod doesent work then how can i play as quake shamblers ![]() CAN ANYONE ELSE GET THIS MOD TO WORK |

I believe you create a new folder in the Quake directory and put your pak files in there.
Don't put them in the ID1 folder. Then create a shortcut with -game shamblerthingy at the end of the shortcut directory properties. |
