Where do we send bug reports?
I found an unusual glitch in Alien Swarm. Anyone know where I send a bug report?

An obscure one.
First, you put 2 asw_doors side by side - like a few units apart. Now, if you try to chainsaw one door down, the chainsaw sometimes starts to damage the other door too. So, you're chainsawing both doors at once. What happens is that once you kill one of the doors, its healthbar may stay on your HUD, with just a little bit of red left. Now you're running around the map with the healthbar of a dead door permanently stuck on your HUD. I should also mention that you should try this without any trigger for the door. (I'm using doors as unusual barriers that have to be chainsawed down.) |

Oh ok, it's something related to custom maps, I'm not a mapper so wouldn't have known that at all.
And... Regarding the place, I think here is the best place, but I doubt it will get fixed, the game is kind of abandonned now. |

You send bug reports to yourself. If you want a perfect game, you'll have to make a mod and get your hands dirty with some code.

Are you seriously insinuiting that games ship perfectly - without bugs, and that developers don't want to get those bug reports and fix them? You obviously have never built a real game, buddy, because only an @ss would say something as stupid as what you just did. Last edited by XFunc_CaRteR: 01-27-2012 at 12:44 PM. |

Blackcat's games developers are busy with new project. They have no time for ASW. And Valve does not really cares about the support for a free game (obviously and reasonable).

Do you know where they get sent? I'm glad you think you can speak for the ASW team, but unless you're actually on the ASW team, I'll send in the bug report. |

I thought it was heavily implied in my post that the answer is "nowhere".
But if you will find such address - please, do share with the community. Thank you. |

Nowhere? You have definitive information that there is *nowhere*, in Valve, to send a bug report when a gamer finds a bug in one of their games? Is this a policy? (If it is it would be a very strange policy.) Can you point this policy out to me? Or is there a direct contact inside Valve whom you verified this with? - that Valve does not want to receive bug reports from its audience.

That would be especially strange given that, from what I recall, in Team Fortress 2 there is a bug report field right there in the game shell menus.

I have no idea what kind of bug jarateed you so much, but I can see it was hell of a one. Again, if you will find such address where to send them - would be nice if you drop a note here.

No, it was not a bug that "p|ssed me off". It was a member of this community attacking me because I attempted to give completely normal feedback to a game developer. If you look at the original post, I asked for the address for a bug report. You decided that gave you justification to attack me - which was completely unwarranted. |
