Moderators locking/censoring critical threads
Here are the forum rules.
I created a thread last year about problems with From Dust, including DRM issues, bugs, and it's short length. I titled it "DO NOT BUY", as I wanted to create a big warning sign for anyone coming into the forums that the game had serious issues. You can read that thread here. 41 people +repped the OP in that thread, with comments saying "Thanks for the warning", and "Thanks, wish I'd read this before buying". The thread didn't break any of the forum rules, it's not an inappropriate thread for a forum about the game, and should not have been a candidate for editing. Yet a moderator (I don't know who) has come along, renamed it to "My issues with the game", and the change in title immediately meant people stopped reading the thread, as it wasn't nearly as eye catching or as strong of a warning as the original title. I created a new "DO NOT BUY" thread, and after about two weeks it was locked, and I was given an infraction. I only created a new thread because my old one was unjustly censored. You can agree or disagree with my problems with the game, but to censor thread titles and lock threads simply because they are critical is not acceptable. This type of behaviour needs to stop. This is not an "open argument with a moderator", as I'm not singling out any of them in particular, nor do I know who it was that edited my original post. This is arguing with the practice of censorship when a thread does not contravene the forum rules. Last edited by PGuybrush: 02-12-2012 at 01:23 AM. |
