Stuck at: Initializing leaderboards...

I have no firewall turned on.

Is there any way to skip this? I can't play the game at all.

Hello,
If you haven´t run the game in a long time (since last update 7-1-2012) it will take a while to update the leaderboards, it took like 1 or 2 minutes for me.
And, if Steam is offline for whatever reason, after a while trying to update the boards you´ll get an error message telling you an error has ocurred, but you´ll be able to play normally (it happened to me too).
As far as I know there´s no way to skip this, but once updated the message doesn´t appear again.

Cheers.

Is this still happening?

I just tried starting up in an uninitialized state, and it worked ok for me.

If you're still having issues, there is a little trick you could try. Create a file called "xlbd1.rpr" and place it in your "My Documents\Xotic" folder. It shouldn't matter what's in the file, the game just checks to see if it exists. If this is your first time playing, and you don't even have that Xotic folder, go ahead and create it.

Let me know if you're still having problems.

Hi Darren.

Like Ankon said, if I leave it "initializing", after a minute or so, it shows an error message and says that leaderboards will be disabled for that session, but of course, each time I launch the game, I have to wait until the error msg shows up.

So, I did what you said and it worked!
I launch the game and it goes directly to the main menu.

Many thanks!

Here, the leaderboards are successfully loading, but it takes 30 seconds to do so, every time I start the game!

It is super annoying

After your first startup, it should initialize almost instantaneously. Once it's started up for the first time, it should generate a file called "xldbd1.rpr" in your "My Documents\Xotic" folder. If you're taking forever to startup, check to see if that file exists. If it doesn't for some reason, just create an empty file of any kind with that name, and it should launch quickly.
