SRCDS is a PAININDAASS HELP!
Hello!
I have been running 3 SRCDS Dedicated servers (CSS, GMOD, TF2) from my RIDICULOUSLY fast gaming computer (8 sec boot, srcds boots 10sec). My internet is fast and my servers have been great! I can play my games while I run the servers NO PROBLEM what so ever and even connect to them. But since yesterday this has been happening. When ever I run the servers I cant play any source multiplayer game. It just is stuck at connecting tos erver. As soon as I quit the ded it connects right away. If I turn it on in-game it says auto disconnect. During that auto disconnect if I turn the servers off it lets me play. This happens when 2 of them are up 1 of them are up and with everyone. Im not sure whats wrong seeing I have not changed anything with it. Its really bugging me cause these make up a 3/4s of my Clan's servers (Guns For Life: g4lclan.com) and people want to connect. BUT I WANT TO GAME! WHATS WRONG! Is it ports? Remember this was working COMPLETELY FINE. Non of my friends know whats wrong. HELP! And yes I know its a bad idea to run your servers off the same comp u game off of BUT TRUST ME my computer is up to the task Smile. I'm a little confused why you are binding your lan address to the servers.
The shortcut I use is C:\SRCDS\css\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -port 27016 +map de_dust -maxplayers 25 Just to eliminate that as a possibility, try removing the lan ip from the launch shortcut. Other than that, I honestly am not sure what could be causing the issue you describe. |

Removing the LAN address shouldn't have any effect on it. For example, on *nix, binding the address is necessary. No, I'm not sure why this would have worked in the past, but I think your issue may be related to ports. Your client is going to try to connect with port 27015, however, you have your CSS server on this port. Since it is already in use, you wont be able to use it for anything else. Try following this article to change your client port (not the client port of your servers) https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...6370-QPHJ-3567
