Alot of paradox games follow the total war franchise like this did for shogun. They honestly put out a total war game then paradox is like great game but we want more EMPIRE feel. They don't have Real time battles. It's like a MASSIVE empire/court sim that host a board game.

hey just wanted to say, Crusader Kings II is damn near the same game(albeit a sequel of its own series) but set in early medieval Europe.

same thing with the managing of demense, vassels, ect; although CK2 is more polished with event choices, building progression, and peaceful play.
