Hello all. What exactly do I need to take in to account when playing Multiplayer. I know about the email wrapper but is there anything else?

Indeed. While helpful. It doesn't really explain where to get the various patches that seem to be be prevalent in PBEM games here. Nor how to switch between them. I should have been more direct with my question

There are 3 games:

Age of wonders 1
Age of wonders 2
Age of wonders Shadow magic (stand alone expansion for AOW2)

I can't speak for the other versions, but for shadow magic we normally use the unofficial 1.4 patch. Which is obtainable from http://aow2.heavengames.com/ (like most other files for AOW)

What you want to do is install Shadow magic -> Official 1.3 patch (bundled with 1.4 I believe )-> Unofficial 1.4 patch and you're ready to go

Check out the sign up -threads on this forum. There are threads for all three games, whichever you play. And don't worry about your skills, it's not always competitive, people play together against computers, too. Besides, as long as you're a good loser, everything's ok.

Yeah there is one more game Lords of Celederion II open for Shadow magic, if you sign in there and we find somebody else that wants to join we can set another game rolling
