I played it and found out about Spectromancer. Kard Combat is a good version of the game for beginners or mobile. Totally worth the 2.99
|

Oh thank GOD! Kard Kombat is embarrassing, both in terms of their promotion style, and the presentation style.
A proper iOS Spectromancer port with good async multiplayer would be a huge hit! Please do not nickel and dime us with IAP though - Kard Kombat already got there first. Quote:

Sure.
They are keeping certain powerful cards (cards from the main set!) for strange promotions. So, in order to get these cards you need to refer a certain number of gamers to buy Kard Combat. Those who don't do this are obviously crippled in multiplayer. Also, the mages are sold separately unless you buy the whole 'unlock' product. If you don't do this, you need to play a whole bunch of mindless single-player content to unlock all the cards for your mage. This needs to be done for each mage. Even if you buy the whole 'unlock' product for $9.99, it isn't clear whether the later mages will be included in this package. Its frankly a mess. This is compounded by the terrible low-res artwork, and ugly interface. Spectromancer is such an amazing game - it deserves far better than this for its iOS port. With the new iOS features for asynchronous gaming, a proper Spectromancer port could be a breakthrough title with good marketing. IMO its the best card combat game out there in any format. Quote:

 In the meanwhile, you may enjoy "Ascension" on iOS. It's more in the vein of Dominion, but plays fairly well and is super easy to pick up. The (one) expansion adds depth to it.
