Says you.
I and many others say otherwise. This may come as a shock to you, but your OPINION isn't global. And how is taking your thumb away from the action buttons an improvement? In Shank, the dodging was done with the trigger, which is far more logical and doesn't force you to move your thumb back and forth. Last edited by Kleetus: 02-16-2012 at 05:07 PM. |

I think it's an improvement as well. These forums aren't quite active anyways, and usually the ones that don't like the mechanism will be complaining about it, while the players who like it or doesn't notice a difference will keep quiet.
Personally I think there's plenty of time to move your thumb back to the action buttons, because the animation is longer than in Shank 1. This also means that you don't have to time your dodges perfectly to evade stuff. I find it easier to dodge to a certain direction, because I don't have to look where my character is facing. I want to dodge left? I move the right stick to left. I want to dodge right? I move the right stick to right. I can even keep the left stick facing completely different direction while dodging to instantly start attacking to that direction. You are allowed to disagree of course, but I personally prefer this mechanism with redisdead. |

How long do you people need to move your thumb from the button to the stick?

That's not the point, why take something that was working fine, and make it more clunky and complex?
If you like it better, you're entitled to your opinion and preference. But nobody can argue that removing your thumb from the action is an improvement or more logical. Also, the right stick has more than 2 axis. In the heat of battle, there's a chance that you'll push the right stick slightly off direct left or right. That could never happen with a trigger. Improve the controls where they need improving, great. But the dodging in Shank, in my opinion, was fine and should have been left alone. |
