Does AVP work on Win 7?

I bought it on a sale at the request from a friend of mine, was wondering if anyone can get it to work on Win 7. Thanks

The game has DX11 features so it is of course compatable with Vista and Win7

Are you have problems getting the game to run?

Yeh it's for Win7, If you have a DX11 compatible GPU then run AVP in DX11 mode ( a popup will appear when you launch AVP that will prompt you to load in DX9 or DX11 )

You do have a DX11 GPU correct? You didn't say whether you had one or not. My GPU a lowly 8800GT, so only goes up to DX10, therefore I have to play DX9. My understanding is there isn't much to see using the DX11 anyway just a little limited tessellation on the zeno's at a cost to fps. They didn't really make much use of it for all the hype.

You're not missing much, the only DX11 features in this game are some tesselation on the aliens, and it is barely noticable considering how dark and fast they are.

Hmmmm, new at this, but got me a GTX590 (which was the newest they had), and I thought it did?

OH Yah, that's a nice card and should be DX11 ready. Can I have your card?

Have you tried verifying your game cache? R-click on the game in your library, choose Properties/Local Files/Verify Integrity of Game Cache. You should be offered a choice of the DX you want to use when the game starts up. Are you getting an error?

If you only have a DX10 card you should run it in DX11 anyway because it uses one of the features called Compute-shading (which is actually DX10.1) and this increases FPS.

This is pretty much what I was going to say. If you have a direct x 10 card choosing direct x 11 causes it to run in direct x 10 mode. Which is great, because you get some nice direct x 10 features without the (early ?) tessellation resource hogging...
