Private beta?

So I was checking the dlc files that I had for Civilzation V and I noticed something new. There is a new category between the "Language Tab" and the "DLC" tabs called "BETAS" and apparently it's a private one.

Is there some type of requirement to get in? I haven't played Civ 5 in a month or so but is anyone else in it?

Firaxis has a playtest group of volunteers, this is likely what you are seeing in the private builds of Civ5 that you don't have access too.

Generally speaking invitations are given out on recommendations of the current testers. So basically if you become a significant contributor to one of the major fan-sites, CFC, Civplayers, WPC etc and impress your peers that are testers, you very well could be approached to be a tester.
