Anyone else having probs with Night Battles?

I had it freeze when trying to take Kyoto. I chose a night battle to stop their second army from reinforcing.
The bar on the loading screen stopped at the last 1%. Most of the time an alt-tab and re-maximize sorts it out, but not this time. Had to close the game and now I'm trying a fresh load - ooergh!

reloading the game sorted it this time. Frustrating of course due to this games bizzare load times.
