Released a new build today. You can download it from http://code.google.com/p/srcdemo2/downloads/list as usual.
Changes include:

Launcher actually checks if the command-line optimizations it wants to use are available before using them (fixes application not starting with old or feature-stripped Java versions)
Added note at the bottom of the interface about using a server JVM if possible. Only shows when not using a server JVM, and includes a link explaining how to install one.
Implemented gaussian blending (different weighing style where frames in the middle of a blend are given more weight than the others; only useful for large shutter angles) with configurable variance.

Updated screenshot in the first post.

Made the launcher's optimization probe actually work this time.
Added a command-line interface (SrcDemo2-cli.exe)

And while a command-line interface doesn't sound too exciting, here's something that should hopefully make it a bit more so (it's a pagestretcher, but worth it):

Very cool program. For just general purpose, I think fraps is just an easier way to record and go. However for more complicated stuff I"ll defiantly give this a go.

New icon and logo.
Added artwork credits in about tab.
Attempt to automatically delete inconsequential files from the mountpoint (.DS_STORE on OS X, Thumbs.db on Windows)
Initial Mac OS X release. Only has command-line mode for now. You will need to install a FUSE library (Fuse4x, OSXFUSE, or MacFUSE). The FUSE bindings library, which has also been developed just for SrcDemo2, has only been actively tested on Fuse4x. To run the command-line mode, type:

The help thing gives two possibilities to specify the mountpoint argument: -m or --mountpoint.

whichever you prefer. One is more verbose but more explicit, the other one is shorter but less explicit.

If you've never worked with command-line programs before, I suggest you read up on certain conventions or read the help page for programs you may have already used before, as it will probably help you figure out how to work not only with SrcDemo2's command-line interface but also those of any future command-line program you may encounter. It is common practice to offer two styles of arguments, one long style with "--" in front to be explicit about what it is doing, the other with short (typically one-letter) "convenience" arguments prefixed by "-" for usage by people who already know the program's arguments thus don't want to type as much, since they already know what is going to happen.

(Also, don't replace spaces by backslashes)

Changes include: New icon and logo. Added artwork credits in about tab. Attempt to automatically delete inconsequential files from the mountpoint (.DS_STORE on OS X, Thumbs.db on Windows) Initial Mac OS X release. Only has command-line mode for now. You will need to install a FUSE library (Fuse4x, OSXFUSE, or MacFUSE). The FUSE bindings library, which has also been developed just for SrcDemo2, has only been actively tested on Fuse4x. King of Koopas Join Date: Jan 2009 Reputation: 74 Posts: 1,204	Very cool program. For just general purpose, I think fraps is just an easier way to record and go. However for more complicated stuff I"ll defiantly give this a go.
