I'm not so sure about that, I remember the p4d bein pretty slow which is why I got rid of mine.., in a 32 or even 24 person server, what matters is the minimum frame rate, 30fps average probably possible with a p4d, but when does frame rate matter? When you stare at a blank wall in a hallway 60fps does you no good, but when in the heat of battle surrounded by explosions and people running around you, if it drops to 15 there, then you are in trouble.

not lying. its a pentium D which is just 2 pentium 4s. my graphics card is radeon x1950 and 4gb of ram

Here are some posts riddled with factual errors of people who want to assume whatever suits their argument. By the way, this thread is meant to report a bug, so I don't know why these people need to argue here, but since they insist to do so, at least they should get their facts straight.

The most popular multiplayer FPS game of the decade being competitive is CS1.6. Most players who played the game at a decent level use 640x480 or 800x600 and they still do use these screen resolutions. This does not include all the gamers like people playing Crysis for the amazing graphics, but there is no way you can claim 800x600 is/was uncommon given the sheer number of CS players.

It's Valve that doesn't optimize the game. If my PC meets recommended requirements, I EXPECT it to run on Medium with more than 25 fps.
Well, here am I, DX8, 1024x768, low, 20-50 fps, graphic glitches.
Satisfied? NO!
So Valve should get off their lazy chairs AND OPTIMIZE THE GAME!
Don't blame guys with Pentium 4's who use DX8 and run 15fps at 640x480!
