Specify appid for Source mods
Lately I've been having this problem: when I try to launch a Source mod (particularly CSS SCI FI 3, Too Many Crates and Contingency) a little table pops up. It says "You are trying to run an unknown appid, please specify -appid on the command line" and after that I cannot play CSS (getting same error message) until I restart Steam.
I don't get this error when launching Synergy and ReWolfenstein 3D, though. So I've tried various appids (CSS, HL2, SDK) without much success, today I even reinstalled Steam, but nothing seems to help. So, any suggestions? |

Oh, sorry, I didn't find that one, it's exactly the same problem, but the author didn't explain it the same way (his point was the txt file). However, there was no working solution so I could still use some more help. If I change the appid, I get the surfaceproperties_manifest.txt error mentioned in that thread.
I also tried moving mod folder to the folder of appid I chose (such as source sdk base 2007\ for appid 216), though it turned out that the txt file just isn't there, so it changed nothing |
