Immediately cancel ALL Steam updates the second you see them start, and check the forums to see if it crashed TF2 for Mac users.

I don't know how long you can prevent a Steam update from installing itself, but I managed to avoid this latest game breaking update by doing that.

i just got the latest update and its all fixed now
