yea not really needed as u can spot almost all anomalies from a distance. but i was watching playthrough of stalkersoup last night and he was using bolts like a motha. the difficulty is ratched up like 100x he said and literally 90% of the time he was constantly throwing bolts and would only walk where he threw bolts. so i guess easy vanilla mode bolts not needed but hardcore modded mode bolts are a must.

in SOC you'll also occasionally find locked cabinets or drawers that can sometimes be opened by a few hits of the knife or a few well placed bullets.
