Could someone explain this game to me?

I started playing, then it said planet incoming, then a black screen scrolled and my ship blew up. Exactly how do you play this game? I'm clueless on how to play and what your objectives and goals are in the game.

You have to turn your ship into Drill mode, so if you play with the mouse, you just have to do a right click.

For most things, you shoot them or avoid them (That much is fairly basic)

For large rock masses, Planets, Asteroids, and the occasional boss that has a solid layer that needs to be penetrated, your ship has a "Drill" mode. You press the drill key, your ship flips around, and you can bore right through planets and asteroids.

The catch is, you can't fire weapons while your drill is out. So you have to be ready and make the decision when to use the drill. Many asteroids you can avoid, but some you have no choice, and you ALWAYS have to drill through planets and larger bosses.

Keep an eye on the left side of the screen and it should give you a warning "PLANET INCOMING" a few seconds before you fly into one. With asteroids, they game tends to spawn a "hint" asteroid in the background to give you an idea when to watch out for them, gotta keep on your toes for both cases.
