What makes you think they're ignoring it?

They've obviously discussed it before. It is PROBABLY likely that they talk about it when considering new weapon ideas. They just went "Okay, lets not do that. We do not like that."

Just because they don't blog about it doesn't mean they don't think about it.

If many people think its a good idea and as it was a concept weapon before it can be a good thing to make a blogpost about why its rejected as weapon.

When they do that counter arguments or possible fixes for balance can actualy be suggested.

What if for example they say it would be just a reskinned syringe gun. You could suggest that the shotgun and scattergun have a similar relation. And when giving it decent ramp up for the scout you also get that same relation.

Feedback is important.

Feedback is nice, but I don't think we need to have a constant huge argument back and forth with the forums and the fanbase over what is a cool idea and what is not.

Heck, they did that with the Repair Node and there's still people who want them to put in the Repair Node anyways.

What information they give back might actually peeve off the fans too. See the argument as to why they removed the Painterly filter on the Decals

Well, maybe Scout could become the nail gun... Hmmm... Yes, imagine it, a nailgun running at the speed of light.

It's already in the game. Valve designed the Shortstop to have similar upsides to the Nailgun while still relying on the same skillset as the Scattergun.
