Whats with this [NonSteam] crap in the names of the servers showing up for gametracker?

I just wanted to pop on 1.6 for kicks and giggles and I don't exactly want to touch a server that doesn't have VAC or allows for cracked clients.

Every time i connect to any server there is ppl playing, for me its not dead

Of course though, those are all related directly to the Steam Client itself, and NOT the game.

Yeah. But it's not just CS 1.6, it's all Steam Games that use in-game browser.

And to answer the thread question, this game is pretty much alive and it will stay that way for a very long time.

Yep, happens with CSCZ and DoD as well (and I'm sure HL too)... all GoldSource based games.

And as far as the weird "lag spikes" that some people have experienced (where the game(s) TOTALLY freeze for a second or so, every few minutes or so), OTHER Steam games as well (e.g. -> http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2232326 ).

In other words 95% of ALL problems with these games are STEAM CLIENT/WRAPPER/DRM/INTERFACE RELATED!

The last 1.6 and CZ patch was on April 21 2009 and July 16 2009...Valve needs to patch the game that made them popular.
