A new Survival Map, "Sol Novus" was released for SS3. It's one of the most original maps architecture-wise yet for this game.

The First SS3 campaign map that I've seen:
http://www.gamefront.com/files/21294468

the map is pretty small and fast to play. contains two secrets and a 'boss' at the end. was rated 4/5 at the site where I found it. my rating, 2.5/5

Well, it's definitely a beginner's first map feel when I play the map. It is sloppily made, there are many design and technical bugs, and it is short, but I kinda like the mood of the level. I add it to the first post.

You can add my Exception to the list of SS3 campaign maps now:
http://forums.seriouszone.com/showthread.php?t=61409

It's only an alpha but still playable with around half an hour of gameplay assuming you explore everything. Plus I'll keep updating it with every 25% done.

I won't add it until it is ready. But people will still see this update.

Finzy, I had no idea what Exception was. Why am I on a giant cube? Why does audio from the Warhammer 40,000 series play when I get the sniper rifle? Why is there cloud? What am I supposed to do?

The second map was massive, so massive, to the point where I had no idea what to do.

They're interesting concepts, but they need to be expanded upon. They are in alpha, so I'm not going to be critical of it. I do like jumping from cube to cube though, and the massive second stage could host some truly amazing fights.

I'd definitely love to see the finished product.

EDIT: Due to my inability to read, I did not notice your comments in the forum post, so I am removing my commentary.

Yep...reading the story at least is recommended (it's also in the readme), otherwise you'll be mighty confused. :P TL;DR you're inside Sam's mind, which is in a state of chaos, so a lot of things don't make much sense. And those other characters / bits of audio are for comedy effect, which should be obvious.

By the way, I also just updated it to 0.26 which makes it easier on harder difficulties and fixes a few minor things.

It's like Inception. The first map is fun, and I do love the cube hopping, but some of the platforms are very difficult to get to, and there's no clear indication of where one is.

Well, yeah, but most of those platforms are secrets, so that's why. I myself missed almost every secret on my first play, I only found the Dissidia reference.

Hi,
I'm so glad I clicked on this post by mistake. I'm just getting serious Sam BFE now and I noticed that there were custom maps being done for it.

What a bonus. I played a lot of games in the age of Unreal Tournament and UT2004, back 'in the day' when there was a lot of custom mapping. And what a great addition for a game (sorely missed in the modern world). So I look forward to downloading and playing your custom maps. Seriously !!
Thanks,
Yeeyoh

Yeah, I bumped the thread deliberately because I've seen the surge of people coming in due to the sale, and they should see this thread.

BUMP!!!!

anyway, here are two new SS3 maps I've found. while both are beginner's map and aren't that great, well, you still may want to try them out.

co-op/campaign: Stay alive [ download ]

DM: Cairo Trouble [ download ]
// honestly, this map looks like a remake of the 'little trouble', but in more urban setting

Aww hell no, another one of those guys who make a separate folder for a Multiplayer map. It's okay for Campaign map, but NEVER EVER do that for a Versus or a Survival map! It causes trouble for everyone but yourself.

Anyway, the Little Trouble remake is quite awesome looking. As for the campaign map (that was actually placed inside the Multiplayer folder, but that wrong again, because this map is a Campaign map) it's actually quite... cute. It's amateur as hell, no lightning, no GI, no probes, floating models, no proper end, script errors, no PPE. I'd say this level is far from finished. But then again, maps like this and the previous one of these Russian maps are quite nostalgic to be honest. I still remember the days when i did similar maps for SS1 back then when I was like 12. It's very nostalgic. And you can actually see some quite good atmosphere there. If this map would be expanded and fixed by someone more experienced, it would be quite a nice map. Adding it to the first post.

Btw, my Survival Megapack project is nearing its completion, you can check the progress on >>this link<< (you can also find beta versions there).
