Rome Total War multiplayer campaign question

Hi!
A friend and I bought Rome TW yesterday because we wanted to play together, using this mod: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=2968735
But when he is server, he can't click on "Start Game" and "Load" because it's greyed out, even if we both are logged in via the client program. When I am server, I can click the buttons, and the game tries to start for him but says "Can't find steam.exe" or something like that.
Is there any fix/workaround for this? We only bought this to play it together!

So I guess this means it isn't possible at all?

Probably a really bad idea to ask here, why don't you ask over at the forum where you downloaded this?

I thought if people are able to play the steam version with this mod then they're here on the forums and can help me, but you're probably right, I'll go ask there.
