Borderlands Refuses to Launch: Error Code 51

The will not start, and I've look at all the help guides and such. None of them worked. Anyone having this issue AND have a solution that is guaranteed to work?

^^ the gist of your post is you've tried all solutions that has worked for others, but want the solution that is guaranteed to work for you. Can you be more specific?

Has the game run before now? Do you get the error with any other game?

Have you seen this post? Specifically, have you looked at the list of Programs Which May Interfere with Steam?

I finally have the game able to play and such. Now i have a new problem, the Steam Overlay isn't working. I don't know why. I have the option enable, and there is no program blocking my the steam overlay. So is anyone else having this issue? Is there anyway for me to edit the overlay?

^^ It would be helpful to others in the future to know what fixed your problem, otherwise its an endless cycle of people asking the same questions over and over without explanation on how the problem was solved.

I didn't do anything, the game just started to work after I did a re-installed. I'm just having the issue of the steam community in-game menu/overly not working. It's only with the borderlands game, not other game. Can someone please tell me how to fix it?
