Just wanted to say I found this forum today. XBox has Live, so I thought it was odd. I guess it shows that if Microsoft falls out of love with their own products, Steam is here. Cool.

Are there XBox 360 achievements on Steam?

Welcome, welcome to the SPUF Orange Box subforum. Unfortunately you are a bit late to the party, most people here have moved on to the PC version after TF2 went free-to-play. But a few people still remain, just like there's still people playing TF2 on the Xbox, so welcome all the same.
As for your question, the PC version of TF2 has the same achievements as the Xbox version, plus many more, but the two versions are not directly linked in any way.

Games like Dawn of War II that use GFWL (Games for Windows Live) have achievements that when unlocked will show on your Xbox Live Account and Gamercard but games like this are far and few between. Other than that there are Steam Achievements but they are no way as glorified* as they are on the Xbox.

*By glorified I mean that on Xbox people will often comment on Gamerscore as a signal of commitment or in some cases "No-lifing" where as for the 8 months I've spent on Steam, not one person has ever asked about my achievements what-so-ever.
