Rebellion: Assassinate Hitler DLC for Sniper Elite V2 is to "get attention"
http://www.strategyinformer.com/news...-get-attention
There's been some dissent over Rebellion's choice of pre-order DLC for Sniper Elite V2 because it lets players assassinate Adolf Hitler via a special mission. It's "quite weird" people object. Rebellion's Jason Kinglsey says he's yet to have an explanation why some find assassinating a "genocidal maniac to be offensive." It's "deliberately controversial" to draw attention. |

It somewhat kills the suspension of disbelief, IMO

Well, the way I see it, I saw a chance to Kill Hitler in a video game, AGAIN, it had me throwing money at the screen, quite literally.

It's a game, not real life. In fact if I read it correctly, it is an alternate reality to the end of WWII in which Germany won the war.
This is not the first time someone has come up with that idea as Philip K Dik (Had to mispell due to profanity filter) won a Hugo award for a book based upon that same premise. I also remember seeing a short film, in which the butterfly effect term comes from, that ends with the alternate reality of Germany winning WWII. Nothing new about that premise, and I see no problem with assassinating any inhumane dictator. Put "Dear Leader's" son on that list too as far as I am concerned. |
