Failed to run install script

I try to install Empire total war. And That pops up. How can i fix this. Been dying to play this game.

Go into the game directory in steam. Should be under c:\program files\steam\steamapps\commmon\<total war> In there look for a install.vdf file. Open it in a text editor and you will see the things it tries to install. Do those installs manually and see if any errors pop.

There is nothing in there. I open common and its empty

Are you trying to install the game from a Disc?

Yeah I am. but i figured it out. I did what Satoru said and opened the install.vdf file from the DVD and did all that from there. Thanks though
