I don't have any of the Dirt games, but apparently Dirt 3 is getting a Complete Edition (for PC and consoles), which will be packed with new content (including new tracks and cars). This interests me a lot, and I would absolutely purchase it full price on release... but only if certain conditions are met:

You forgot to add that they should also implement better security in their key systems, so people getting the game via trades wouldn't get a nasty surprise of finding out it's being revoked

I always get problems with GFWL too, and I even lost connection with my Chinese friends(is it because I am in Canada and we are too far from each others?).
But the biggest issue is secure our CDKEY. |

I would love to see the day when Codemasters definitively dumps GFWL and starts using SteamWorks. I would understand GFWL in those games if there was crossplatform play with the Xbox 360, but if we can only play with other PC users... SteamWorks is the way to go. |

Mine came with a steam key, which unlocked a dlc pack key to use on GFWL. The game is based on GFWL so it would be hard for them to remove it.

![]() ps. and in the future codemasters, please do not force your dlc into the game in such a way that getting the pretty shiny gold completion triangles are not possible anymore untill you complete dlc-tracks. It ruined the challenge of the game immediately for me, and because of this agressive selling-tactic i refused to play on at that point. I'm stubborn like this i guess

Both GFWL and Steam are used by developers because of the MP framework available with both as part of the included tools. It saves them from having to do everything from scratch if their game has MP. I wouldn't think it would be that easy to remove the GFWL because of it. MP would have to be redone using either Steam or one of their own devising. Don't think you would be able to play with the people that bought the GFWL version either which would split the community.

I dunno it worked for DOWII Retribution, they reported increased sales due to the better multiplayer experience that time round. GFWL doesn't deserve a place in 2012, its been a failed experiment from the start.
