My bug
Ok so I've played whole single player and coop (except bonus coop) with no problems. Couple days ago I was trying coop, and zooming effects game shutting down. When I'm not zooming, game shut down randomly (same thing in single player). In user maps (Reversion) game crashes every time when I try to pick up cube.
No changes in computer or game were made. One day game stopped working. My specs: Win 7 Home Premium 64 ATI Radeon HD3880 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz |

When you said that things were not showing, did anything appear in their place (like the purple checkerboards for missing textures or the blue "ERROR" for missing models)? Could you link to a screenshot by any chance? |

Pressing 'e' to use/activate/drop shuts down game
Hi, when I press the 'e' button to use/activate/drop etc, it often makes the game shut down without any kind of message or warning.
Any suggestions? Thanks |

Based on some research, it appears that the GeForce 5200 only supports Pixel Shader 2.0a. Portal 2's system requirements specify that it uses Pixel Shader 2.0b. Based on your screenshot, it appears that only some objects are failing to render (likely the ones that require PS 2.0b). In addition, I notice a lack of proper shadows on the objects that are rendering, which also may be caused by a lack of Pixel Shader 2.0b.
I apologize, I should have noticed that fact earlier, when you mentioned your video card model. It appears you may need to upgrade your video card in order to properly run Portal 2. I am actually quite surprised that Portal 2 ran at all. Sorry. I wish I could be of more assistance.

Blurry textures on PC version
I've got a PC version that has suddenly manifested blurry textures. I tried the fix suggested for the "mat_picmip" bug: deleted all the .cfg files from the portal2 directory (which .cfg files did you mean in the fix?) and the cfg folder, but it didn't help. I noticed setting "mat_mipmaptextures 0" in the console is a partial fix because it brings full detail back at the expense of switching off mipmapping. Changing the value of mat_picmip doesn't seem to restore the detail in some textures.
Might delete my local cache of Portal 2 and re-download it tonight. |

Huge issue right now hitting many people's games:
Portal 2 is failing to load after the "Preparing to launch" screen. Steam will say that you are in game portal 2, but then it says you left the game seconds later, even though it didn't start. It seems to be happening to Windows 7 64 bit users. Reinstalling Steam and the game do not work, and neither does running it as Administrator. |

Unlocked AMD processors conflicting with Steam DRM
I have discovered that when running AMD Phenom 2 processors with unlocked extra cores(enabling disabled cores in X2 and X3 Phenom2 processors) any games using recent Steam DRM will refuse to run if the CPUs ID string is changed to a non existing CPU(e.g. from X3 720 to X4 20). Besides Portal 2 the list seems to include at least DX:HR and Football Manager 2012. Not sure if Deus Ex actually uses Steam DRM or just a DRM with the same issue.
