Just Discovered DiRT

I just discovered the magic that is DiRT 2.

WOW!! This is awesome.

So, I'm looking at getting a steering wheel to improve my enjoyment of this incredible game.

I've already got a TrackIR for my IL-2 flying.

Any recommendations about a good quality wheel to get as a new race simmer?

I'm really looking at the Logitech G27 and the Thrustmaster T500, but I'm not sure considering the nearly double difference.

Also, been reading some reviews and comments on this forum, is DiRT 3 a disappointment or are people just frustrated and complaining about nothing?
