Then i have 3,2 hours on record (without walk-trough). Actually I played more than this as when I was stuck on a puzzle, i used to quit the game and play it "in my head" to find the solution.

Took me 6.2 hours (according to Steam) with no help. I did that in multiple sessions though, usually stopping when stuck and thinking about the solution while not actually in the game. I didn't get any stars. I have no interest in doing some of the things getting the stars requires, so I did read about the additional ending if you get them.

4 hours according to Steam, no help.
Although I got totally stuck at one point missing 3 puzzle pieces and quit trying for like 6 months. Now I came back and figured the puzzles out in like 30 minutes. A break does miracles to your brains. Edit: Amazing ending. |

I hate you.Stuck on the same levels and depressd me to the point I had to uninstall it.
Made me feel terrible. Jonathan Blow caters for 1 sort of person. The elite brainy one. The snotty nose who flew through school. That's his market. I wasn't blessed with those genes so this game will never connect with me. I just dug a hole deeper and deeper with this game until the black dog sat on my shoulder and I felt miserable. Portal does that to me also. Platformers or puzzlers even old style scroller shooters,my mind isn't there. TH e trouble is the game didn't want me to push. I didn't feel compelled to go the next step by this game because I just didn't care but hte frustration factor killed any adrenalin I had left. It just didn't do that to me like A Skyrim or Half LIfe 2 or Fallout 3. Games that have balance are a very hard thing to do. Last edited by ProudTiger: 03-08-2012 at 04:38 AM. |

Is it the developer's fault that you don't like puzzle-type games?

I beat it in 3 hours. I needed help for that one puzzle in world 5 (I'm sure you can guess which one), everything else I did on my own.

I just finished the game tonight, and I'm happy to admit that it took a little over twenty hours. I got every piece and finished all the puzzles. I never got these stars that I've begun to read about, as I avoided this forum and other walkthroughts. Jonathan Blow writes in the "official walkthrough", "All the puzzles are reasonable. Don't give up." I believed him.
Like ProudTiger in #54, I had a burning frustration at the difficult parts of the game. After I got the last puzzle piece, I was really resentful at another run of puzzles, with a slightly different mechanic. By the time the princess arrived, I kept muttering to myself "Why is Jonathan making do this ♥♥♥♥?!" That said, completing the game and achieving a sense of 'closure' became important, and getting to the end was satisfying, though I had to rinse the bitter feelings away. This is an awesome puzzle game. |

Try playing the game again and take in everything the game has to offer in five years time, when you're somewhat mature. This isn't a game for the typical numb-minded, senseless, always-want-action kid. |
