What are the chances of another sale?
So I saw the sale last Tuesday where everything was 66% off (except the newest expansion pack) and I thought to myself "Hey I remember playing The Sims, I loved that game, maybe I'll give this game a try."
But being the idiot that I am I waited two days to buy the game and the sale was over. Now I'm finding myself loving the game and wishing I had some of the expansion packs but I can't bring myself to buy them considering I could have had them all 66% off less than a week ago. Wish I had known there was so much DLC for this game, maybe I would have jumped on the sale. Do games sometimes go on sale shortly after a previous sale? Maybe EA will do something similar to what 2K Games did and have all of their games 50% off or something. Hey I can hope. I noticed some of the expansion packs are on sale on Amazon, I suppose those won't work with the Steam version though will they? Last edited by Tgo01: 03-12-2012 at 11:27 AM. |

The non-steam DLC won't work for the Steam version. Most likely the game and most or all of the DLC will be on sale for the summer sale in July.

Fear not...these things always go on sale again, eventually.
Of course, if you are enjoying the game a lot, then it might be worth more to you to get one or two DLC packs at full price now than to wait a couple of months. You could always skip some other entertainment activity, like going to the movies, and redirect the money to buy virtual furniture... |

I think a sale before the release of the next expansion is likely.

You can probably expect some sort of discount during the summer sale around June or July.

I too am in the same boat as the OP. Really sucks we can't add retail addons to steam version of the game, Orgin is having a Spring sale as week speak btw.

I've heard some complaints about Origin though, is it a bad service or is it just a Steam vs Origin type thing? |

you can buy only one or two DLCs before the next sale. If you bought too much, you probably don't have time to enjoy all of them. I have a steam friend in China bought all the DLCs on origin, and only played the base games plus World Advanture...
