i got banned (for somereason dont now why)but my click and buy a ccount says my bank account is not real and i know it is cause i put 20$ in it a few days ago and bought a few games and stuff. no i cant trade or anything but play games for 2 months!

From personal experience, those who scam or cheat in trades, such as promising a gifted game to someone, taking their items, and then running, are candidates for trade bans.

I am quite certain that trading bans and VAC bans are completely separate, one will not trigger the other.

They are indeed separate entities. Valve has set up lately a bunch of new restrictions, like the trade bans.

On the good side, nowadays is far more rare to get an account lock like before. They can ban you from trading and even purchasing. But you still can access your account and play your games.

I have a trade ban. I NEVER scammed anyone. It is a bit of a long story, to simplify things, I bought 200 dollars in games, gave my father the money, and when my mother saw the bill she assumes it is fraud. Since she is head of the shared bank account between my mother and father my steam account was locked and still is. It sucks soo bad, just be grateful that it isn't you. I am restricted from trading, purchasing, cd-key activating, and gifting. Be GRATEFUL that this didn't happen to you. When I try explaining to my mother it wasn't fraud she doesn't listen. Not even to my father. Damn.

Because something like "steamcommunity.com/id/NabsterHax/" is not a direct link to a profile page.

It links to anyone who has reserved the url "/id/NabsterHax" and you can change that whenever you want. That's why the links don't work. Their profiles are still there, but just not in the same place.
