Main Menu Crash

I know, another thread about crashes...
Well, I've read all of them reporting bugs and crashes.
In my case, the game launches, checks for saved games, stays on the main menu for about 5 seconds and then crashes. No report, no anything...

I've tryied checking for file integrity, deletind and re-installing, updating stram, game and video driver.
I've looked into the file to deleted pointed on some answers, but my game is via steam, couldn't find the folder.

So, what now, any ideas? PLEEEEAAAASE!!!!

Intel core i5 3.2
AMD Radeon HD 6800 Serie
12 GB RAM

C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Hothead Games\TheBaconing is no accessible, or doesnt exist, i dunno...

I have the same main menu crash also. the prefs.ini file does not exist for me either. I have updated AMD video drivers. Does anybody know how to get this game to run?

Try running the game with disabled desktop composition.

Angry The Baconing still won't run

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. That usually will work, but no luck this time. Luckily this is the first game that wouldn't run for me all.

I updated my Amd drivers again from 12.1 to 12.2. It now finally works.

Srich80, just out of curiosity, what´s your video card?

What's that desktop disable option? I don't know about it

AMD 5770. Expand Steam folder, select Steamapps, common, select The Baconing then right click The Baconing exe. and hit compatibility tab then you will see some settings.

Hey man, just got an answer from Hothead support:

"Thanks for providing this. I had another user with a similar video card report that when they updated to the Catalyst 12.2 driver, that it fixed a crash they had

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...iewdriver.aspx

The 12.2 version has several new fixes, however it is still a "preview version" so they are not fully supporting it yet. That means it may cause issues with other stuff. So if it doesn't work for you, you can always roll back to your current driver. Hopefully it will work for you, and fix this problem.

I hope this helps."

Worked for me, hopes it works for you.
Cheers
