Screen Flickers purple

hey all. when i try to play the demo i get purple screen flickers when it starts up. i can move the mouse and hear the title music but i have to video. just a black screen with a mouse courser on it. please help!

This game has so many bugs and the developers won't fix it, don't waste your time.

If you have a computer that meets "required", I'd say this game now have very few bugs. If you also have a fast internet connection, close to no bugs. Magicka has sold over 1,3 million copies. Quite an achievement if the game is as bugged as MrCrunk suggest.

You need to tell us what hardware your using PooPoo. Without that, there's no way to give any relevant suggestion.

I believe the number of threads about bugs and multiplayer problems speaks for itself.

So, what resolution are you using for Magicka ? Your drivers are up to date, so that's OK. However, the GeForce 7900 GS is quite far from the required 8800. (Benchmark list and Hierarchy Chart) I'm not sure that's the problem in this particular case, but even if you can get around the "purple screen ", you will need to keep all settings low-ish.

Try using this settings.sav file. It will launch Magicka windowed, on lowest resolution. All graphic settings on low / off. If you manage to run the demo, readjust settings as you like/can.

BUT. With an 7900 GS, I wouldn't by Magicka. To run smooth you need better hardware.

alright will try it. thanks. and i will be getting a new card asap. 8800 or above. i built my desktop a couple of years ago and i havnt ran it since 2 weeks ago due to harddrive upgrading.
