Flatout online play via Steam

Anyone know how to play Flatout multiplayer? Downloaded game via Steam...tried to connect with other steam players online and no games showed up.
Please help,

There is still an active online in Flatout 2 and Flatout :Ultimate Carnage.
Flatout 3 is definitely dead online, you are not likely to ever find anybody there.

I'm not sure about Flatout, haven't played it in a long time. Maybe others here still play it and know if there's some particular time that FO is active.

You might also check out the groups and perhaps join one for contact with other FO players. From the game launch page in Steam, on the right side click 'Related Groups'.

Flatout 1 only has LAN play. But some smart guys tweak the LAN code so we could race Flatout 1 online.

There still a group of players still racing Flatout 1 online. They hold a tournament now and then. Here link to their web site:

You should make a copy of your Steam Flatout 1 folder and use this copy Flatout folder to install the mod the guys at fo-online will tell you about.

I use to host this mod for Flatout 1:

After you have check things out and if you like to try FOv3 mod online with Heddly cars, let me know and we can pick a Saturday and I'll see if I can get some the guys from Flatout Joint to joint us.
