Game crash after going through the first barrier

Is anyone else having an issue where the game crashes after getting the shotgun on the first area and then killing 5 zombies and then going through the barrier?

re-verifying the game on Steam doesn't fix it.
Deleting the game settings folder doesn't fix it.
Running the game in a window doesn't fix it.
Disabling Crossfire doesn't fix it.

7950s in Crossfire
i7 2600K CPU at default speed
8GB 1600 DDR3 RAM
Asus P8Z68-V Pro with 3203 Bios
Windows 7 X64 SP1
8.95 AMD display drivers
Desktop set to 6048 x 1200 and also occurs at 1920 x 1200

Yes, yes I am. Although now that it's happened 1 time. I thought that I'd restart Steam and maybe that'd fix it, cuz hey let's face it, sometimes it does. Now Steam doesn't work either. I have similar stats to your pc as well, only an nVidia graphics chip over Radeon.

We've only had this issue here when running the client without being connected properly to Steam. Do you happen to have any connectivity issues?

I had to disable 2 of my 3 monitors to get the game to work

I just got the game, using a laptop and i get the same error when i play. It crashes within seconds, if i'm lucky, a couple minutes.
